A Career in makeup is increasingly attractive as it offers variety and is rewarding and a fulfilling way of earning a living. As a Professional Makeup Artist, your job is to fulfill a creative requirement. In a rapidly changing world in which computers are replacing people in so many areas of work we know for sure that no machine can ever replace the Makeup Artist.
DO I NEED A LICENSE TO DO MAKEUP?
In the state of California, there is no licensing for Makeup Artistry. No license required to work as a professional freelance Makeup Artist (within the film, television, entertainment industry), or if you are applying makeup professionally to recommend/sell cosmetic products (department store and/or freelance sales)

DO I RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE?
Yes, upon successful completion of our Professional Courses, students receive a certificate.
DO I RECEIVE PRO DISCOUNTS?
Yes, upon enrolling into our courses, all students get a Pro Discounts with 40+ brands like MAC, The Makeup Shack, Nigel's, Makeup by Mario, House of Lashes, etc. The list goes on!
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE TO ENROLL?
The minimum age requirement to be able to enroll is 13 years old, however, you will need to have a parental or Guardian consent on hand and a copy of the parent or Guardian's Legal ID for minors.
- Pro Master Course- Color theory, contour and highlight, day looks, evening looks, bridal, mature skin, etc.

1. How do I enroll?
To enroll, a non-refundable deposit is required to save and secure your spot. Once your deposit is submitted, we email you your receipt and student contract.
All classes are first come, first served due to limited seating.
2. What payment methods do you accept?
We accept:
- Zelle
- Apple Pay
- Venmo
- Cash
- Credit/Debit Card
- Shop Pay
- PayPal
Please note: credit card processing fees apply.
3. Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. We offer weekly in-house payment plans for most courses.
✔ Payment plans begin on the first day of class.
✔ All payments are due upon arrival to class.
✔ The bigger the deposit, the lower the weekly payments.
4. Are deposits refundable?
No. All deposits and payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Deposits secure your seat, instructor availability, supplies, and class preparation.
5. Do your courses include kits?
Most courses include a starter kit unless stated otherwise.
Starter kits may vary by course and are designed to help students begin offering services. Some additional professional products may be recommended by instructors.
COURSE INFORMATION
6. Do I receive a certificate?
Yes. Students receive a Certificate of Completion after successfully completing their course.
7. Do you offer licenses?
No. Gladglam Makeup Academy is a private training academy. We offer certification courses only.
We do not offer:
- Cosmetology licenses
- Nail licenses
- Esthetician licenses
8. Can I take nail classes without a license?
Yes. Our nail classes are open to both licensed professionals and non-licensed students.
Many of our students take classes for:
- Personal growth
- Freelance services
- Skill development
- Content creation
- Beginner education
Please check your local/state regulations if you plan to open a salon or operate commercially.
9. What is the minimum age requirement?
Our youngest students have been 12 years old with parent or guardian permission.
Minors must have a signed consent form from a parent or legal guardian.
10. Are classes hands-on?
Yes. All courses are hands-on and instructor guided.
Students may work on:
- Mannequins
- Models
- Themselves
- Practice hands
(depending on course structure)
11. What should I bring to class?
We recommend students bring:
- Notebook
- Pen
- Water/snacks
- Black attire (if requested)
- Additional products/tools recommended by the instructor
Some courses may require students to bring models.
ATTENDANCE & RETAKES
12. Do you offer retakes?
ONLY the following courses include retake opportunities:
✔ 10-Week Hair Styling Course
✔ 11-Week Pro Makeup Course
All other courses DO NOT include free retakes.
13. What if I want to retake a class that does not include retakes?
Students may request to RSVP for a future class if space is available.
A $100 processing fee is required to attend a retake session.
Courses do not offer retakes but you are more than welcome to come back and take a refresher for $100 fee.
14. What happens if I miss class?
Attendance is extremely important due to the hands-on structure of our courses.
Multi-Week Courses:
Students are responsible for keeping track of attendance and missed work.
One-Day Courses:
No absences are allowed.
Missed classes are non-refundable.
15. Can I freeze or pause my course?
Course freezes may be approved on a case-by-case basis.
Fees may apply depending on the length of the pause.
Please contact admissions before missing classes.
CLASSROOM POLICIES
16. Is there a dress code?
Some courses may require:
- All black attire
- Hair tied back
- Professional presentation
Students will be notified before class if required.
17. Are phones allowed during class?
Phones should remain respectful and not interrupt demonstrations or instruction.
Please step outside for calls.
18. Can I bring a model?
Some classes allow models during hands-on portions.
If a model is required, students will receive instructions before class.
